Scientists collected data at 14 sites throughout the US and found a 78 percent increase in autism compared to a previous study from 2002. Brandon is one such child suffering from the condition. Luckily, things are improving thanks to the love from his family and the help from research groups like Autism Speaks. PKG Brandon loves to play with stuffed animals just like any other child. The 9-year-old is especially fond of penguins and dolphins. Brandon, however, is is not like most children. He was diagnosed with autism, a developmental neurological disorder which causes a variety of behavioral issues, when he was two years old. According to a recent study released by the US Centers for Disease Control, 1 in 88 children are now suffering from autism. It was one in 166 and now we' re at 1 in 88 and I don' t think we still aren' t any closer to any answers as to why the incident rate keeps rising. I don' t think we' ve seen the incident rate stop rising yet which is also alarming."
